My Story
Jill Lissner, B.S. (she/her) is a sex educator in the greater Philadelphia region and a graduate student at Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies Master of Education program. Currently, Jill works as the health and support service resource specialist at AccessMatters, helping people access the sexual and reproductive health information and services they seek. Previously, she worked at the Philadelphia Area Sexual Health Initiative (PASHI) as a sexual health educator and specializes in educating youth on topics of contraceptives, teen pregnancy prevention, safe sex practices, consent, relationships, and STI prevention. She also has experience working with Planned Parenthood as a medical assistant in health centers and as a chat/text educator providing proper reproductive health information and expanding access to sexual health resources. In 2021, she also was a research assistant on one of the first-ever projects addressing consent practices and perceptions within the erotic hypnosis kink community.
Jill’s interests include sexual health and positive sexuality in combination with politics, religion, and identity. She is also passionate about the intersections of sexuality and body image and is an advocate for individuals with eating disorders. She uses her social media platforms to post about her personal and academic experiences in these spaces and shares her story to encourage others to accept their authentic selves. Jill is extremely passionate about social justice work including advocacy for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities.
Jill is a queer, Jewish, and chronically ill woman. She uses the different facets of her identity to foster connections with others and enhance self-exploration in her own learning and the learning of others. She strongly believes in the importance of experiential learning and bringing personal experiences, reflections, and emotions into learning environments.
